The Green Deal is the Government’s flagship initiative to increase the energy efficiency of domestic and non-domestic properties throughout the UK. It will do this by establishing a framework to enable private firms to offer consumers with energy efficiency improvements to their homes, businesses or community spaces with no upfront costs. Instead payments are made via a charge in instalments on the customer’s energy bills, subject to meeting the golden rule.

The Green Deal will also provide SMEs with one of the biggest opportunities to win work over the coming years. The work will be available through major contractors’ supply chains and public sector contracts as well as directly with property owners.

The pages in this section are an introduction to the Green Deal, what it means for your business and how you can get involved.  The initiative will launch late Autumn 2012, and to make sure that Lincolnshire businesses are prepared, we will be holding a series of workshops to help keep you informed.
